Enterprise System IT Specialists provide Agency mission partners with consultation, analysis, and problem resolution for technology products, applications, data and system access, and software issues.

About the Job

Enterprise Systems IT Specialists (ESITS) are responsible for ensuring the Agency’s global IT mission partners receive timely, responsive, and exceptional IT service. ESITS provide one-on-one consultation and applications troubleshooting assistance; resolve access, hardware, and software problems; respond to incoming calls for IT assistance and meet with users to resolve problems; assist with integrated IT service delivery requirements; and are responsible for sensitive data access control.

ESITS may provide project management and systems integration for data, voice, and video communication systems. You may also support operation, maintenance, installation, and management of domestic and foreign field locations outside of the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Occasional foreign and domestic travel may be required in temporary (30-90 days) and longer-term capacities (generally 2-3 years). CIA offers benefits and allowances for travel that positively impact overall compensation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in one of the following fields or related studies:
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Information Systems
    • Information Science & Technology
    • Management Information Systems
  • Or a similar degree from a technical trade school and a minimum of two (2) years of IT customer service work experience with excellent performance and completion of recent formal training in the field
  • At least 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • IT skills such as:
    • Voice transmission
    • Data communications
    • VoIP
    • Enterprise server management
    • Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN)
    • Facsimile
  • Experience with access administration
  • Experience with desktop hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Experience eliciting information on technical problems from non-technical mission partners
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts/issues in a manner matched to the audience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Dedicated, accountable, and dynamic work ethic focused on delivering results in demanding environments
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to meet mission needs
  • The ability and willingness to travel worldwide. Travel may be in temporary or longer term capacity (generally 2-3 years).
  • Ability to meet the minimum requirements for joining CIA, including U.S. citizenship and a background investigation

    • Computer Science

  • Ability to apply project management and systems engineering principles to initiate, plan, execute, control, and close the work of a team to meet mission needs
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineering (MCSE)
  • IT skills such as:
    • TCP-IP networks
    • Applications development
    • Digital/analog fault isolation
    • Repair to least replaceable unit
