About the Job

As a Technical Programs and Policy Expert within CIA’s Directorate of Science and Technology (DS&T), you will apply deep innovation expertise to advance science and technology policies that enable our ability to maintain strategic advantage in a rapidly changing world of Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDTs).

DS&T Technical Programs and Policy Experts typically conduct policy management of cutting-edge innovation while interacting with researchers, project managers, and program managers from other government agencies, academia, industry, and internal entities. Successful Programs and Policy Experts work across the spectrum of policy challenges, applying policy management expertise to today’s mission, while keeping the Agency well positioned for the future. DS&T Technical Programs and Policy Experts identify and mitigate risks and threats directly contributing to the Agency’s strategic technological goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields or related studies (or comparable work experience):
    • Aerospace engineering
    • Bioengineering/biomedical engineering
    • Biological sciences
    • Biotechnology and microbiology

    • Computer engineering
    • Computer science
    • Electrical engineering

  • At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale
  • Ability to meet the minimum requirements for joining CIA, including U.S. citizenship and a background investigation
