This position was formerly known as Cyber Exploitation Officer

As a Data Analysis Officer for the CIA, you will evaluate, analyze, and exploit a wide range of digital data to identify and assess how adversaries operate and interact. You will use strong critical thinking skills and a variety of digital analytic and/or forensics tools and methods to extract valuable information from data and create a range of products that explain your findings to support mission partners, inform operations, and drive collection.

Data Analysis Officers triage, review, and identify items of intelligence and operational interest from technical collections and other datasets. You will leverage advanced methods to analyze data sets, and create and refine capabilities to exploit often novel large data sets quickly and accurately.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields or related studies:
    • Computer Science
    • Digital/Computer/Network Forensics
    • Computer or Software Engineering
    • Applied Mathematics
    • Information Security, Information Assurance
    • Telecommunications
    • Data Analysis/Analytics
  • GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale
  • Demonstrated skills in at least one of the following concentration areas: 
    • Computer Forensics
    • Network Forensics
    • Advanced Analytics
    • Data Processing and/or Analytic Programming
Desired Qualifications:
  • Foreign language skills or in-depth foreign cultural/regional expertise

  • A comprehensive background investigation
