Open Source Enterprise (OSE) Geographers are the Intelligence Community's experts on using geospatial tools, methodologies, and data to enhance the exploitation and analysis of open source information. OSE Geographers integrate skills in geospatial analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), cartography, and remote sensing to more effectively analyze and exploit foreign-based publicly available information. OSE Geographers carry out geospatial analysis, visualize trends and patterns, locate hard-to-find places and facilities, and combine their GIS know-how with regional, cultural, and linguistic expertise. They are proactive in finding ways to use their geospatial skillset to support CIA's mission, and they collaborate with OSE's Open Source Officers, Librarians, Geographers, and other Intelligence Community members to do so.
The candidates we seek will proactively leverage their proficiency in: ArcGIS and other GIS software, quantitative and spatial analysis techniques, data management, and advanced research to answer intelligence questions and meet complex challenges. Candidates will be adept at using the internet and on-line applications to discover, visualize, and exploit geospatial data, monitor foreign media outlets, and locate places and information of interest.
