Security Engineers at the CIA provide project management and systems engineering support in the design, development, acquisition, and integration of cutting edge and unique technologies for the next generation physical, technical, and analytical security systems. Responsibilities include the physical security convergence of Information Technology with Intrusion Detection Systems, video surveillance, access control, technical surveillance countermeasure tools, locking systems and devices, and sensors. Frequent domestic travel and occasional overseas travel will be required.
Minimum requirements: These positions require a five year contract term employment agreement. Contract Term Agreement. Applicants must hold at the time of appointment at least the equivalent of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited US college or university in the following fields:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering Technology
- Electronics Engineering Technology
- Security Engineering Technology
In addition to being a self-starter, applicants must be possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, integrity, initiative, and technical excellence.
All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.
