Graduate Studies Program - Cyber Exploitation Officer

Work Schedule: Full Time
Salary: $41,142 – $43,493 ($19.71 – $20.83 per hour)
Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area

As a Cyber Exploitation Officer Graduate Intern for the CIA, you will work side-by-side with other Cyber Exploitation Officers in the evaluation and investigation of digital and all source intelligence information in a dynamic, ever-expanding digital environment. You will use a variety of digital analytic and/or forensics tools and methods to extract valuable information from digital data. You will create a range of products to explain your findings, inform operations, drive the collection of intelligence, and support customers. You will also partner with other Cyber Exploitation Officers to triage, review and identify items of intelligence and operational interest from technical collections and other data sets.

Cyber Exploitation Officer Interns generally are required to work either a combination of one semester and one summer internship or two 90-day summer internships. Co-op students work on an alternating semester or quarterly basis and are expected to spend a minimum of three semesters or four quarters (this can include a summer tour) on the job prior to graduation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Full-time student pursuing a graduate degree in one of the following fields or related studies:
    • Computer Science
    • Digital/Computer/Network Forensics
    • Computer Engineering
    • Applied Mathematics
    • Information Security/Information Assurance
    • Telecommunications
    • Data Analysis/Analytics
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields or related studies:
    • Computer Science
    • Digital/Computer/Network Forensics
    • Computer Engineering
    • Applied Mathematics
    • Information Security/Information Assurance
    • Cyber Security
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Telecommunications
    • Data Analysis/Analytics
  • GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Availability to work at least two 90-day tours prior to graduation
  • Attending school on a full-time basis before/following this internship
  • Creative problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Analytic and research skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Foreign language skills
  • Ability to script/code
