Undergraduate Internship Program - Logistics Officer

Salary: $42,331 ($20.28 per hour)
Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area

Our undergraduate internship program seeks motivated undergraduate students to work with an accomplished, diverse team, providing a full range of logistical support for mission requirements. The work includes managing and executing procurement, shipping, and receiving processes required to support the US Intelligence mission. As part of a team, student interns will implement these logistics processes by leveraging existing networks and expanding others; anticipating mission needs and requirements and offering alternatives and advice; and evaluating, redesigning and implementing logistics processes for mission support. Students will also participate in process reviews, staff meetings, and other activities which will increase their understanding of the issues and challenges facing a logistics service provider.

Student must work for a minimum period of one year, or a minimum period of two years should the student receive tuition assistance as both an undergraduate and a graduate, following entrance on duty as a staff employee. Students will be required to work for the sponsoring component unless the component agrees to the reassignment of the student to another component.

Minimum Requirements: Applicant must be a full-time student enrolled in 4-5 year college program majoring in one of the following degree programs: Business Administration, Business Management and Administration, Logistics and Materials Management, Logistics, Transportation and Supply Chain Management, Engineering - Industrial, Operations Management; able to work a full time 90 day summer tour, preferably for two summers; and must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in a Logistics, Transportation, or Business-related applicable major. Applicant must be a self-starter able to work with a minimum of supervision in a fast paced environment. The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent analytical skills.


All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.
