Undergraduate Internship/Co-op Program - IT Engineer

Work Schedule: Full Time
Salary: $41,142 - $43,493 ($19.71 - $20.83 per hour)
Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area

Students serving as IT Engineer interns work independently and side-by-side with other engineers to create, develop, integrate, implement and perform product evaluation services for the Agency's worldwide workgroup platform. This includes participating in the design of enterprise desktop computing solutions, engineering collaborative solutions (e-mail, team collaboration, web and video conferencing), local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) for the Agency and Intelligence Community, and introducing state-of-the-art technologies into the corporate baseline. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in and contribute to the development and support of Agency's mission critical systems - common platforms, collaborative computing and service-oriented architecture.

Students work in a multi-discipline, diverse, and technically challenging environment and have opportunities to use and enhance their knowledge of communications technologies, computing platforms, network systems (Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Outlook), operating systems (Microsoft, Unix, Linux), collaborative tools (e-mail, instant messaging, web and video conferencing), and automated test tools.

Interns generally are required to work either a combination of one semester and one summer internship or two 90-day summer internships. Co-op students work on an alternating semester or quarterly basis and are expected to spend a minimum of three semesters or four quarters (this can include a summer tour) on the job prior to graduation.
