The Democrats do the same thing. Obama did the same thing. How do you think he got so much money?

by dolmance-2009 October 12, 2010 1:23 AM EDT Soros doesn't contribute anonymously. And he's not trying to buy influence for himself either. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Plus George Soros is an American citizen, not some foreign entity. Why do republicans and their supporters have such trouble processing facts? I am beginning to believe most have driven themselves crazy by their hatred of President Obama.

STILL CRAZY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS...................................................No, GOP bozos were crazed long before by decades of contempt for basic American values-- how ironic for a party which tries to spell the word "freedom" convincingly on its campaign posters.................................................. Any party with a track record like the GOP-- opposing civil rights, opposing privacy protection from government snooping, opposing support for jobs, retraining, education, opposing protection for Social Security and Medicare, health care for all Americans, opposing fair taxation, and opposing fair and diligent regulation of all industry, from pharma to financial-- should hang its trunk in shame................................................. To try to defend a record like that, a GOP bozo must become a bit bonkered. Some few of them eventually see through the GOP FUD, but very few do not lock-step to the general notions on Faux News, where personalities replace ideas.

Since the Dems have nothing positive to show for having absolute power for the last 2 years they are doing the only thing they can: distract, lie, blame, disenfranchise the overseas military vote (again), and manufacture a bunch of mud to smear their opponents with. It looks like nothing has changed.

You really NEED to go to Politico.com and check out the accomplishments that have taken place over the last 2 years.

PELOSI, REID, OBAMA, and all their Lap Puppies who were part of the reckless spending and arrogant behavior over the last 20 months are now trying to quench free speech and participation in the electorial process. In my opinion, each voter should do their due diligence and vet their candidates. Are they incumbent??? Are they career politicians??? Are the corrupt (do they sell their vote for favors?) Do they ignore their constituents??? Are they "in bed" with Lobbyists??? At the last minute, before a vote, do they attach "ear marks" to unrelated bills??? If the answer to any of the above is YES... THEN VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE.

A DEFICIT OF THINKING.............................................................................................................................Two GOP bozo presidents-- Reagan and G.W.Bush-- each doubled the national debt before he left office. Neither was noted for brilliance, but their chief failing is their handlers in corporate America demanded so-called "supply-side" perks, like unaffordable tax breaks for 5.5 percent of the taxpayer population. By deficit spending like drunken sailors, they managed to leave this country with $10.7 trillion of national debt. Bush handed Obama two things-- a set of keys to the Oval Office desk, and a fiscal 2009 budget $1.3 trillion in deficit....................................................................................... The GOP policy of DEregulation left us with a crime scene on Wall Street, and a full-blown recession, headed toward depression. And yet, the GOP insisted on a criticism of the new Obama administration that was, in the words of conservative NYTimes columnist David Brooks, quite simply "insane". It was absurd to the point of being dishonest to suggest fiscal austerity in the face of a recession, said Brooks. But the party of Jack Abramoff and Mitch McConnell went ahead with it, anyway. Paraphrasing the illustrious Donald Rumsfeld, "Ya go with what ya got."

"So, do you agree that American citizens should have the right to know if foreign money is being funneled into U.S. political campaigns" -At what point did we as Americans become so damn stupid and hypocritical? Honestly, this socialist second thing in office was taking your tax money and sending it to foreign nations to pay for their abortions, now your gonna get your panties in a wod over this? Even if it were true who really gives a damn? GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR A$$ES AMERICA!

I see you quoting my question, but I don't see you answering it. Should Americans have the right to know if foreign money is being funneled into U.S. political campaigns? I say yes. Do you say No? I'm glad Republicans felt differently about this during the cold war. Otherwise, the Soviet Union could have corrupted our Democracy by pumping money into it in secret. I guess I think it's a good idea for Americans to know if Iran, North Korea, China, etc. are involved in our elections or not. It seems that Cons don't want Americans to have the right to know about things like that.

The problem that President Obama has is there is no proof of the Chamber of Commerce contributing foreign donations to any candidate. Just because Democrats say they are convinced, the rest of the country is not - without proof. This is political mud slinging at it's worst, and the President should be ashamed. But he isn't.

So, do you agree that American citizens should have the right to know if foreign money is being funneled into U.S. political campaigns and, if so, how much money is involved? If not, are you saying that you want to make it impossible to find proof of foreign involvement? It seems that Cons want proof while desiring to make it impossible to get proof at the same time. So, should Americans have the right to know? Most Cons side with "No" on that question.
by RobAla October 11, 2010 11:50 PM EDT
salmoc44: Of course I do not want foreign money involved in US politics, and that goes for Soros giving to Democrats. Here is the deal: The Democrats are making an accusation, so the they have the burden of proof to show the evidence. It the evidence is there, fine. Remember, in this country we are innocent until proven guilty. I am sick of mud slinging, with no evidence to support it.
by salmoc44 October 12, 2010 12:09 AM EDT
RobAla, You dodged the question. It's one thing to say you don't want foreign money to be involved. But, I didn't ask that. I asked if you think Americans have the right to know if foreign money is involved and, if so, how much. And, if you don't think Americans have the right to know, how exactly are they supposed to prove to you that it's happening. It'll remain a secret. You can try to deflect with Soros this and Soros that but that doesn't really enter into whether you believe Americans have the right to know or not. Once again, it seems that Cons want the proof while desiring to make it possible to get proof at the same time. Should Americans have the right to know? Most Cons side with "No" on that question.
by salmoc44 October 12, 2010 12:29 AM EDT
RobAla, You didn't answer. Should Americans HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW if foreign money is involved in U.S. politics? It's hard to prove anything if we don't have the right to know.
by dolmance-2009 October 12, 2010 1:22 AM EDT
No proof? Then why has the Chamber sent warning letters to the governments of India, China and Russia warning about Democrats forcing US corporations to bring jobs back from their countries to the US if the Republicans don't win? You think those letters are bring written for fun? You think the Chamber arguing before the Supreme Court that foreigners should be allowed to contribute to US campaigns last year isn't suspicious either? You think their refusal to say where their money coming from isn't suspicious? You're an idiot.

Obama may accuse others, but he was caught actually doing it. "Obama Accepting Untraceable Donations" October 29, 2008 "Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign is allowing donors to use largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity, campaign officials confirmed." " The Obama organization said its extensive review has ensured that the campaign has refunded any improper contributions, and noted that Federal Election Commission rules do not require front-end screening of donations." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/10/28/AR2008102803413.html

You're regurgitating Fox News lies, or you're a liar. Republicans are spending seven times more than Democrats with contributions that are anonymous. Democrats have NO ANONYMOUS DONORS WHATSOEVER.

Can't help but notice the Republicans knew they were going to loose so bad, they didn't put their money where their Palin mouth was.
