- Republicans ruin things and Democrats clean up messes Republicans make. This country is ruined because of Reagan, Phil Gramm, Newt Gingrich and his stupid reading of the American Constitution which he plagerized in public on public property, Sarah Palin who can't accept loss and sputters violence throughout America. She even had target practice at real politicians and she got away with hate crimes. So America is doomed and we had better just sign our deed of trust to China. We are doomed forever thanks to Republicans! Vote and elect Democrats 2010 and beyond.

- Newt plagerized the Constitution? I thought it was for all of us. Those Founding Fathers should have copyrighted it.
- The democrats have been running congress for over 4 years and BHO almost 2. What is the limit on the blame?
- This is just White American racism to constantly harass President Obama about something that White Americans need to do for themselves. In the meantime, your country is being torn apart by tornados. Just maybe these disasters are occurring in greater frequency as divine retribution for the hatred that White American like to indulge in against anyone who is non-white, and I have zero approval rate for the way White American has treated their President thus far!!! But you all, White American, will never be able to tear President Obama down for he has a special shield of protect surrounding him against this unnatural hate, and I'm tired of having White American racism thrown in my face everytime I turn the TV on or come across articles like this one. What purpose does it serve? But to give the destroying angels more reasons to creatively demolish and spread devastation everywhere in our country! Do you think the gulf oil spill is the worst thing that could happen?

- Well Wisdom, looks like you are doing a great job rectifying your perception of white americans. My friend, you are breeding racism with your thinking and your words. We all faten what we feed. You are feeding contempt. Have a nice day.
- "Wisdom"speak: change your screen name. If America was as racist as you say it is we would not have a black president. Only about 13% of the US population is black, certainly not enough to get a black man elected if the voting was strictly along racial lines. The charges of racism these days in practically every issue that comes up is getting really old and tiring and it would be great if everyone would simply knock off the racism BS and stick with the issues and policies.
- I don't like the White American's love of negativity towards President Obama, and then the white denial about it whenever it is brought to their attention. At the end of the day, one could shut it out by leaving the work place, but now, you all have invaded my personal life which compels me to speak up against it. Your reasoning is so misguided. I guess you like seeing your homes, building, school and etc. being torn apart and destroyed by tornados!
- It's obvious you are a racist biggot. By the way I don't think the white half of Obama is doing a very good job.
- Son, Obama does not need harassment from White America, Black America or Pink America for the "job" he is doing on the economy or the nation. He is failing all by himself. Since you want to play the race card (which I don't), let me point out that it's not his color: It's his mentality! I better qualify my "mentality" statement. I am "not" saying he is stupid. He clearly isn't. He is an acedemic. He lives in the world of Ideals. That's fine, but it ain't the formula we need right now. He also surrounds himself with those who think like he does (Not helpful). The last thing he needs is Yes men, but that is all he has. He doesn't seem to be able to change his approach. The bottom line he is arrogant, has his own agenda and the country is paying for it!
- This proves 38% of the population need to go back on their meds.

- I'm one who believes we as a nation are a bunch of spoiled brats! How else can we explain this blame Obama attitude for our economic ills? How shallow? We had become so busy enjoying in excess the economic bounty the Lord has afforded our great, that we expect this is what we should expect throughout life! And if we can't have it all when we want it all, blame the President! Get real! The largest economy in the history of the world was on the brink of total collapse. Remember? Stock market at 6,000. Now pushing 11,000. Jobs being lost at almost 1m per month! Now gaining. (we all realize slowly, but gaining nontheless). Iraq war costing $10B per month! Now a trickle of that. Banks killing consumers with hidden credit card tricks. Now regulated. It was necessary to stabilize before we can begin to build again. This time building something that won't tumble on a flimsy foundation. Jobs are on the way brats. Look around at the rest of the world suffering. Then maybe you might understand that we are on the right track and priviledged to have the leadership in the Whitehouse that we do!

- According to the stimulas for green jobs. It would decrease energy dependence ...create new jobs..tax payer jobs have instead gone overseas.450 millinon in stimulas money went to China to build turbines for a for wind farm in Texas. Not to mention that our so called green light bulbs can't be made in the US anymore because the GE plant can't meet regulations. So guess who got these green jobs..yep China. Does it sound green to make green light bulbs in China and then spend all that energy to bring them back?
- Son, you have got to stop drinking all that koolaid! Obama blames the republicans for driving the car in the ditch... Hell, he can't even find the damn car!!!!
- so you blame spoiled brats for obama's failures? And you think we are on the right track? And you think obama is an effective leader? Here's some reality for you: The economy is being monetized. The Fed is printing money to keep it afloat and as a result the dollar is continuing to devalue as I type. That's why gold is skyrocketing. In addition, the Fed is printing money and pumping it into the stock market to prop that up too. You talk about "flimsy", this economy is built on smoke and mirrors, and is a house of cards. "Jobs are on the way" doesn't cut it. It's hot air. The reality is that people are still losing their jobs, business has no idea what's coming down the pike, and unemployment benefits are expiring for the 99'ers. We have gone from the economy being on a slippery slope, to the possibility of the bottom falling out completely. I don't feel "priveledged" to have this "leadership" in the whitehouse. Actually, I find it rather embarassing.
- So many of you make me sick. The problems with this country started with Reagan and has trickled down ever since. Many of you thought that the sun shone from George Bush's a**. He and his administration ruined this country and you expected a miracle. What would you be saying if the old man and the bimbo had been elected? Oh, right, business as usual. The repubs could not care less about the American people. All they care about is saying no, no, no. If it had been their plan, it would be yes, yes, yes. Deregulation ruined the economy and the repubs only cared about shoring up their friends in the financial business. Put the blame where it belongs. Obama inherited this mess and it won't be cleaned up over night.

- IT'S NOT TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS. YOU MEAN TRICKLE ON ECONOMICS. THAT IS WHAT THE GOP HAS BEEN DOING TO THE MIDDLE-CLASS.
- his term is half over, he's spent $1T, and "cleaned up" squat. What makes me sick is that he has the power to ram things through like the stimulus and healthcare plans, fails to accept any responsibility for anything, and does nothing but blame everybody else for his failures.
- Okay, fine, let's put the blame where it belongs. It was Bill Clinton who thought it was a great idea that everybody in this country should own their own home and live the American dream. Freddie and Fannie had to dramatically ease their lending standards in order to make that happen. To stay competitive the other lenders had to follow suit and the next thing you know Clinton's noble cause had some pretty major unintended consequences. House prices skyrocketed because money was so cheap and everybody qualified but the rise was unsustainable and the inevitible happened.....crash!! I voted for Bill Clinton in 92 and again in 96 and I still like him. But this is exactly what happened and how we got here. Remember that things were still going great in 2004 which is why Bush got reelected.
- "it won't be cleaned up over night." Or in two years, or four, or eight. Cash for Clunkers; government payed-for car companies, banks, and insurance; the stimulus; trillions in deficit spending. Could you please explain how this is going to result in an improved economy?
- So is your Republican Party of NO outtatheway. This country would be further along if Republicans had been more of Party of "Yes, let's get this country out of debt". But no to McConnell and Boehner who have held Americans hostage in debt. Vote and elect Democrats 2010 and beyond!
- In these hard times all of my thoughts are not with the poor and hungry in other countries, this is not because I am a hard and bigoted person but because for the first time in my adult life I have lost my reasons for caring. After working 30 years for the same American company, I like many other hard working people have lost my job and health insurance for my family. As now with many Americans when it comes to my caring and giving spirit I cannot care or give. I was unfortunate to lose my job in June of 2010; because of this bad timing I had the pleasure of watching our Senate get a conscience over the cobra health insurance subsidy, which canceled out any possibility of my family getting health insurance. My story is not as tragic as those who have nothing to eat or a place to sleep, but in these coming years when people like me who used to donate and care just can?t, what will happen? It seems to me if Mr. and Mrs. Gates want to spend their money where they can get the most bang for their buck they could send $1 million to 100 million unemployed people and stimulate this economy so that the American people can care what happens around the world again.

- I am one of the laid off. I worked for a small business owner. The owner wasn't making much profit so she closed the store and laid two employees off.She was open for two and half years. 2007 to 2009. I had no insurance at my job.I have no insurance now. I am one of the people that can't afford health insurance. But I would never bankrupt our country to get health insurance!
- how come gitmo's still open. How come we haven't tried Khalid Sheik Mohammed? where's osama bin laden? why is the president suing one of his own states? How come healthcare reform raised healthcare costs? How come the justice department will only convict white's according to 2 whistle blowers? so many questions

- How dare you question the Great Wizard! The Great Wizard told you it's Bush's fault. Good questions that won't be answered by the Adminstration. At least Carter is no longer the worst POTUS in our history
- Gitmo is still open because Republicans and some Democrats are cowards. We haven't tried KSM because Republicans don't have confidence in our Judicial system and like Gitmo, used fear, scare and smear to get the American people riled up and convinced that New York is no longer capable of holding a trial for a high caliber terrorist. Ask George Bush and Republicans where Osama bin Laden. They are the ones who took their eye off him to fight a war of choice in Iraq. The Justice Department is suing an American state because what that state is trying to do is going against Federal jurisdiction. Health care reform DID NOT raise healthcare cost, INSURANCE COMPANIES did. They knew they could get people like you to blame Obama rather than them for being greedy. And I won't even bother to comment on your last statement which is ignorant to begin with. But perhaps you might check with the judicial system to see how the United States justice system has actually treated white people compared to blacks. Yes, so many questions and the answers are right in front of you as long as you don't ignore them.
- We are all gonna need life jackets and hard hats if this guy and the dems are in office much longer.

- No it's the Republicans stupid. They want you to think its the Democrats. Republicans take over and this country is sunk, big time!
- bajabob: says " What do Americans want, if the government is to create jobs--". I don't think Americans want the government to create jobs or increase spending. It is the private sector that creates jobs and wealth. What is needed is a policy that encourages (or at least doesn't punish)businesses to grow. Higher taxes on businesses (large and small) and stiffling needless regulations ( a 1099 IRS form for 600.00 dollar expenditure?) discourage growth. This administration is clearly hostile towards businesses, just listen to Obama rail against CEO's and big business. What this country needs is business friendly policies instead of business hostile policies. But then Obama wants to redestribute wealth instead of creating an environment where people can earn wealth. 1. Businesses need to be regulated, but not have the "boot on their throats" as this administration has said. 2. Businesses need to be taxed, but not to the point of discourging growth. "At some point you have made enough money" per Obama. Why? 3. Businesses need to be held accountable for fradulent activites.. The system worked when ENRON was hauled into court, and maybe government needs to be more diligent with people like Bernie Manoff(investment fraud) and BP (safety inspections) where regulations already exist, but the government isn't doing its job to enforce them.

- coucou, by clydealan2 October 7, 2010 10:08 AM EDT Good grief - It took 8 years for Bush & Co. to trash our economy and now we say Obama is a failure because it has not returned to normal in less then two years?
