Another View of an Episode in “Why Bad Things Happen to Good Analysts”

The September issue of Studies reprinted with permission a chapter that Jack Davis had contributed to the book Analyzing Intelligence: National Security Practitioners’ Perspectives. Brian McCauley took note of an Oval Office briefing—which Brian was part of—that was intended to illustrate the paradox of expertise. Unfortunately Jack’s source for the episode appears to have gotten it wrong.
