Dozens of fires may be seen burning in the Indus River Valley of Pakistan in this image from 8 February 2013. Actively burning areas are outlined in red. These fires follow the Indus River from as far south as the coastal town of Karachi to Bawalpur and points north. It is not readily apparent why these fires were set. Photo courtesy of NASA.
