The Embassy conjectures that the Communists hope to provoke gunfire from the strong-arm groups of De Gaulle's Rally of the French People (RPF). Comnamist propaganda has reportedly portrayed such inci- dents as attempts to bring about the dissolution of the armed groups of the RPF.
