Actor and Philanthropist Gary Sinise Visits CIA
Actor and philanthropist Gary Sinise visited the CIA workforce earlier this month. During a Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) awareness event at CIA Headquarters, Sinise and fellow philanthropist Dr. Mark Bergel, founder of “A Wider Circle”, highlighted the impact of giving. Sinise was introduced by CIA Executive Director Meroe Park, who also serves as vice chair of CIA’s CFC campaign.
Before introducing Sinise, Executive Director Park highlighted the generosity of Agency officers during the campaign. “The annual Combined Federal Campaign has long been a special event here at the CIA,” she said. “It’s a cause that always has inspired our workforce to give generously, and I think the reason for that really comes down to one basic point: This organization was founded on the principle of service.” Park noted that, in the past two years alone, CIA employees have given more than $6 million to an array of worthy causes.
Sinise, who is best known for his roles as Lieutenant Dan in the film Forrest Gump and as Detective Mac Taylor in Crime Scene Investigations: New York, took to the stage in the packed Headquarters cafeteria to discuss his charitable work.
