CIA Feeds Families
This summer, CIA employees are participating in the annual government-wide “Feds Feed Families” food drive. Donations will benefit the Capital Area Food Bank, a charity that provides non-perishable items to hundreds of soup kitchens, food pantries, and other service organizations throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. CIA has contributed to the Feds Feed Families program since 2009.
The Department of Agriculture reports that hunger currently affects one in six Americans. Food banks and food pantries provide meals to millions of families every year, with the heaviest demand during the summer. Over the past five years, federal employees have donated more than 24 million pounds of goods during the “Feds Feed Families” food drive. Last year, CIA contributed more than 6,000 pounds of food to the program. This year’s campaign runs through the end of August.
