CIA and George Washington University Co-Host Fourth Annual National Security Conference

CIA Ethos and Profession of Intelligence Conference 2017Tomorrow, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and George Washington University will co-host the fourth annual Ethos and Profession of Intelligence conference on national security. The full-day conference, themed “Achieving Strategic Advantage,” will feature an opening address from CIA Director Mike Pompeo, followed by a series of panel discussions that feature Intelligence Community leaders, other U.S. Government agencies, non-government organizations, private industry, and academia. The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on 4 October at George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium, will be streamed live on YouTube at The conference panels are:

    (9:27 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.)
  • The Looming Bio Threat: Perils and Promise of Biotech Innovation
    (10:32 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.)
  • Tectonic Shifts: Forecasting Conflict and Political Instability
    (11:32 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
  • Leading CIA: A Conversation among Former CIA Directors
    (1:47 p.m. to 2:47 p.m.)
  • Masking Unmasked: Conducting Espionage in a Transparent, Connected World
    (2:50 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

The George Washington University
