Message from the Director: Remembering Our Fallen Colleagues
Statement to Employees by Director of the Central Intelligence Agency David H. Petraeus on Remembering Our Fallen Colleagues
December 29, 2011
Tomorrow, two years will have passed since our Agency family lost seven brave, talented colleagues in the terrorist attack at Khowst, Afghanistan. Our fallen were on the frontlines in our nation’s war against terrorism. They made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country, and we owe them, their families, and their loved ones an enormous debt of gratitude. Although we can never fully repay that debt, we can—and will—honor them by carrying on their work. Even as we do so, let us pause to remember their valor, selfless service, and commitment to our mission.
