DCI Tenet on the Death of Sophia Casey

October 6, 2000

My wife Stephanie and I were very saddened by the death of Sophia Casey, whose grace, generosity, and unwavering support for CIA employees and their families — here and around the world — left an indelible impression on all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Mrs. Casey had tremendous pride in our work and great affection for the people who worked here. She was a caring, compassionate member of the CIA family, and she will be missed greatly.

We want to express our deepest condolences to Bernadette and the entire Casey family on behalf of all the men and women of the Intelligence Community.
