1. The'purpose of Subproject No. 72 is to initiate research
work on the neurophysiological and pharmacological effects of central

Eharmacology.
2. The scope oall111111111.frogram will include the follow- C
ing:
A. To determine the neurophysiologicaland pharmacological
action upon the CNS of unknown drugs assayed against known effects
of standard drugs with CNS activity.
� B. To develop a systematic method of testing and character-
izing pharmacological agents both in terms of symptomatology pro-
duced and in terms of describing potency in producing given effects
by means of standardized and valid statistical procedures.

C. Act as a pharmacological consultant on problems inherent-
to TSS/CD projects at the request of TSS/CD.
D. Review of overt American pharmacological literature on
problems of specific interest to TSS/CD.

4. The cost of this program is estimated at a cost of $41, 382.00
for a period of one year. To this sum must be added $1,655.28

8. Title to any permanent equipment purchased by funds

9. The requirement for a six-months' informal accounting
