MOVEMENT OF RUSSIAN SOLDIERS AND DOCTORS
Many Russian soldiers, officers, and non-commissioned officers re-
cently arrived in regular units in Shanghai. kiny Russian doctors
have also arrived in Shanghai where they are experimenting with
a new treatment for tuberculosis. The arrival en masse of Russian
doctors is explained by the fact that Russian population in Shanghai
has increased considerably.

PEOPLE'S DOCTORS RECRUITED
East Zone agents are conducting recruiting campaign in the Federal
Republic, particularly southern Germany, for the purpose of winning
young Vest German physicians for service in East Zone by making
tempting promises. A special demand is said to exist for young
internes needed as troop physicians for Peoples Police.

POLISH CENSUS REGARDED AS WAR�PREPARATION MEASURE
According to Polish press, census has evoked flood of rumors. Pro�
vided for registration of wealth, land, and livestock. Peasants
thought government: in view of tense world situation, about to con�
fiscate supplies. Decrees also contributing to war psychosis. Hos�
pital personnel, trained nurses, experts in medical analysis, and
laboratory personnel have been advised that registration is obli�
gatory. Stream of Russian war materiel to Poland or via Poland
to East Germany increases. Russian troops in Poland increased.
Polish coast under Russian control. Conscription tempo increased.
