*Vietnam:
North Vietnam: The Chinese Communists have ap-
parently moved another antiaircraft artillery division
into south China, possibly to release a unit already there
for duty in North Vietnam.
The arrival of the new unit raises the total number
of Chinese antiaircraft divisions in the Nan-ning - Ning-
ming area of south China to at least five and possibly
as many as seven. The normal contingent in this area
until October 1967 was three.
The Chinese now have four AAA divisions in North
Vietnam, two of which may be due for normal rotation
back to China.
South Vietnam: Enemy mortar attacks and skir-
mishes were reported in scattered sections of South
Vietnam on 21-22 December but no large scale fight-
ing developed.
