Didi,
'Thats fine. In fact, even a little better. Just let me know if tuesday or weds. works best for him. I'll probably go
up to boston sunday night, and come back in time for our meeting.
And let's talk in the AM. If you have anything on the '09 incident let's cover that in same conversation, what
time good for you?

Now, good news, and bad news. The good news is that you have free time on Monday afternoon. The bad news is the
DD now has back-to-back WH meetings. So your session will definitely have to be rescheduled, probably for Tuesday or
Wednesday. Are both those possibilities for you? Didi

Didi,
Thanks again for making the arrangements for Monday evening's talk. Enjoyed it immensely, and learned a ton.
Hope it was worthwhile for you, too.
A couple of clean-up items:

1) If there is anything more you can do to guide me on the 2009 scare, today would be a great day to do it -- it's
headed for the copyeditor. Off the record, we are comfortable with Joby's version of the story. Sorry I can't go
into further detail.
2) We should talk over the phone, with our notes from Monday's conversation in front of us, to figure out when
the "off the record" went back to "background." He never quite said, but I think you and I can figure out most of
it, and if need be, if we are totally befuddled, you can ask him on specific issues. I'm reviewing my notes in
preparation to speaking with you.
cheers,
David

David Caught you on MSNBC this morninginteresting conversation.
On the other questions you asked regarding the Taliban nuclear scare, upon reflection the DD would prefer not to
provide additional detail on the episode.
Look forward to seeing you late this afternoon. I will be down in the lobby waiting for you at about 5:15. Didi

Dear Mr.
Thanks very much for this; it's enormously helpful.
There were a few other queries in that same email, and I'm wondering if you were able to learn any answers on
those? In particular, I'm trying to come to closure on why this threat disappeared almost as quickly as it
appeared; we've been told that it turned out the Taliban had been scammed, but it's unclear to me by whom.
Thanks so much, and enjoy the weekend.
All the best,
David

Off the record, we can say that the general timing of the information on Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan's nuclear
threat mentioned in Joby Warrick's book, The Triple Agent, is correct.
