Much of Ken's time was taken up with matters relating to
the DCI's exchange of letters with Sen. Durenberger regarding
proposed changes in FOIA legislation. He coordinated a request
from the Department of State's History, for copies of the
correspondence and he talked with CRD, and with
Charles Briggs, Executive Director, about the History Staff's
role under the Director's commitments to the Senator. Ken also
is drafting a memo in response to the Director's earlier query
about release of OSS documents. He researched events on 6
October as a contribution to John McMahon's speech at last
weeks's award ceremony for Mr. Casey.

CIA for a group of Company Grade Officers who will be visiting
the Agency on the afternoon of 9 November. I gave him a
tentative okay, to be confirmed next week if there are no
objections to the History Staff undertaking this activity.
