Ken was called byl lof Public Affairs about the
inquiries a British journalist is making about US Government
history programs. He turned down the suggestion of an
interview. Public Affairs is handling the matter. (Your
comments yesterday about a questionnaire updated the report
from Ken.) Ken continues to pursue the issue of public access
to OSS documents, including further discussions with National
Archives. At the moment, the project is being held up by DDO,
which is pulling sample boxes to check on whether they are
declassified properly.
Ken spoke on 27 September to another group at the National
War College on Mahar and naval strategy. On 29 and 30
September he attended a naval history symposium at Annapolis.
