Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2009/11/17: CIA-RDP01-00569R000100080011-2 5 5 ADMINISTRATIVE - INTERNAL USE ONLY 11 May 1984 Tom Cormack Executive Secretary History Staff Bi-Weekly Ken, at the request ofl IIPD, responded to a query from a journalist involved in a biography of John Franklin Carter (active in the Roosevelt Administration) about whether any of Carter's papers had been given to the Agency. The answer was negative. Ken had lunch with Ted Gittinger, the director of Oral History at the LBJ Library. He also spent a morning with an official of the Veterans of OSS and of the Donovan Memorial Foundation is making a film for those organizations and wanted access to OSS films. Ken arranged a screening of some movie footage from the OSS materials currently held by the Agency. Ken was approached by Professor Angeliki Laiou, Harvard University, about access to previously released Agency documents on Greece 1940-50. Ken arranged, through to give her a listing of such documents and information on how to order em. Ken handled a phone query from OGC about the official seat of the Agency. He provided (from our history of the building at Langley) information about the opening of the building. He also referred the requester to Walt Elder for information about DCI McCone's move to Langley. handled several phone queries -- one to help OCR identify some old rou ing symbols and one from the Office of Finance about the status of the old Monetary Division history project. Several others were from RMO's running down histories dealing with counterinsurgency cited on the list she had prepared earlier for for use in a DDI/OGI project. Don arranged for Roland Inlow to come in a second time. Inlow read some of Don's chapters and did a taped interview on COMIREX. Don has an Bob has interviewed and James Critchfield in connection with his work on counterintelligence during the Helms period.
