Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2009/11/17: CIA-RDP01-00569R000100080012-1 Central Intelligence Agency 10 May 1984 Dear Mr. Critchfield: Once more I want to thank you for meeting with me on Tuesday. Your recollections add an important dimension to our study and--we hope--enable us to portray yesterday's events with greater accuracy and sensitivity than otherwise we would be able to do. Your long relationship with Mr. Helms has placed you in a particularly advantageous position to provide us with insights, and we feel fortunate to have been able to tap you as a resource. Please convey as well my gratefulness to Mrs. Critchfield, who bailed me out of what might have been a very aggravating situation. The battery recharged itself and I have had no further trouble. I have learned, however, not to leave my headlights on. I am mindful of your comments in our last few minutes together on Tuesday and hope that when you find the time to commit your experiences to paper, you will draw upon the resources of the History Staff. Upon returning to my office after our interview, I discovered that our secretary, worked for you for many years. She remembers those days w_-ith gusto and asks that I pass on her greetings. Again, please know of my appreciation for your cheerful willingness to give me so much of your time. Sincerely yours, STAT STAT STAT Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2009/11/17: CIA-RDP01-00569R000100080012-1
