Ken, 0 and Bob attended the all-day annual meeting of the Society
for History in the Federal Government held at the Library of Congress on 11
April.
Ken has been in touch with Hank Mahoney about a special-interest
who recently completed a history degree

Ken has also continued to follow developments relating to the release of
the OSS documents to the National Archives. The memo of understanding has
been revised by OGC and will be forwarded to NARS for concurrence.
State Department historians had requested a list of publicly released
NIEs and SNIEs; IPD will provide a print-out for them. Two of the State
historians will be coming to our office on 16 April to review documents for
the period of January to June 1963 and to read our history of the Vietnam
coup in November 1963.
Jack Smith has begun editing the chapter in the Helms history dealing
with the Intelligence Community. He has devised a way to finesse the
codeword problem.
Bob has talked once with)
about counterintelligence in the Helms period. Bob also attended the wni e
House welcoming ceremony for the President of the Dominican Republic.
attended the Effective Employee course at OTE. She missed the
last of the four days and is exploring the possibility of making it up at
another running of the course.

Sick leave for various members of the staff has eaten into our
productivity during this period. As of now, we expect to have everyone back
on duty by next week.
