? Central Intelligence Agency ?
This is merely to say thank you for meeting last Wednesday
with and me. Your recollections of your role in the
1967 war helped us immensely in understanding this
"intelligence success," and we quoted you frequently in making
our presentation yesterday. As I hardly need tell you,
interviews of this type are often most useful not for the grand
revelations they elicit, but for the confirming. evidence and
illustrative details they add. This was the case here.
So please know of our appreciation for your willingness to
make your time and recollections available to us. On a more
personal level, I found it great fun, after having heard so
frequently of Sherman Kent as both historian and intelligence
officer, to have the chance to chat with you.
Yours sincerely,
