I am pleased to report that you are among the finalists that we
are considering for our Staff Historian position. We had a very large
number of good applications, so that arriving at our short list has
taken longer than we expected.
Co
uld you let me know whether you will be in Chicago for the
American?Historical Association's annual meeting at the end of
December. If so, we would like to meet with you then.
Although we hope to make our selection in January, you should note
that several months will be needed for CIA'sclearance process before
the new historian can take up this position.
