1. Thanks for the copy of your 11 February memo to the DDA (with his
approval noted) about the 18-19 March meetin s. I appreciate your
undertaking to pay the three historians honoraria and to
reimburse their actual expenses.
2. I'll attach a copy of 11 February memo to the
Archivist, Dr. Robert Warner, on plans or a March meetings. As you can
see, NARS would now like a letter from your office about expenses and
honoraria, which Dr. Warner can then attach to his letter to these
historians.
3. I'll also attach revised and updated vitas for the three
historians who have agreed to serve as consultants. lis
preparing vitas for Dr. Warner, and for John Broderick, the Assistant
Librarian for Research Services who will represent the Librarian of
Congress. Alan hopes to get these to me today or Tuesday, and I'll get
them into our format and to you as soon as I get them.
4. I talked with all three historians yesterday, partly to update
their vitas and partly to fill them in on the background and purpose of the
March meeting. They are all quite interested, and I'm sure they will be
helpful; you'll note on their vitas that they've all had experience on
government advisory committees. I've also talked to Mr. Broderick's
deputy, and I believe you were sent a copy of his 5 February response to
the DCI's 15 January letter to the Librarian of Congress.
