SELECTIVE MILITARY INSTALLATIONS IN THE CHINA~BURMA BORDER AREA
A detailed study was made of selected military installations in Yunnan
Province, China in order to distinguish the difference between division-size,
regiment-size, battalion-size and border defense-post installations. The
study resulted in the following;
1. Meng-Lien Arm Barracks NE (22 21N-gg 37E) - regiment-size
installation consisting of 35 barracks and 11 storage buildings.
(Figure 1)
2. Meng-Ting Army Barracks (23 33N-gg 04E) - battalion-size
installation consisting of 22 barracks and 5 storage buildings,
(Figure 2)
3. Man-Niu-Pa Border Outpost (24 11N-g8 2gE) - border defense
post-size installation consisting of 6 barracks and one storage
building. (Figure 3)
4. Keng Ma Army Barracks (23 33N-gg 24E) - division-size installation.
A more detailed study was made on this installation, and identification
of each building as to function and dimension is provided on Figure 4.
All measurements have been made by the CIA~IAD project analyst. They
should not be construed as being mensuration data compiled by the NPIC~Technical
Intelligence Division.
