Wa are calling for this while realizing that the steadfastness and confrontation states,
of which Iraq is a part, will shoulder the major and basic part of the confrontation.
We are fully confident that our Arab masses, under the leadership of their nationalist
regimes and forces, are capable of confronting this blatant treason, resisting the new

[Text] Baghdad--Th establishment of a new Palestinian revolutionary party is expected

It has been confirmed that Abu Nidal's group, known as the "Fatah ovement--thy true line,
recently suffered from multiplicity of leadership in the wake of Abu Nidal's illness.
The situation was described by some as a rift, but to put it more precisely it was a
"democratic separation."
Following Abu Nidal's admission to Ar-Rashid military hospital 5 months ago after suf-
fering an acute heart attack, he was compelled to relinquish his responsibilities tem-
porarily and hand them over to a body headed by Naji 'Allush, who had moved from Lebanon.
The body in question includes Abu Dawud, Abu Zaki, 'Umar Fahmi, Abu Hazim and 'Abd
ar-Rahman 1Isa.
The group's leadership was effectively in the hands of Naji 'Allush, especially during
Abu Nidal's absence for treatment in a European capital. Following his return from
Europe, Sabri al-Banna was told by the committee that it was the legitimate decision-
making body and that its decisions were binding on him as well. But at this point a dif-
ference of opinion occurred in the committee as a result of which two committee members
stood with Abu Nidal while the rest supported 'Allush's stand, whose ultimate aim was to
establish a new Palestinian revolutionary party. Under this new arrangement, Abu Nidal
kept his headquarters in the premises of Fatah's office in Baghdad, and the training
camp set up in one of the Iraqi provinces remained under his command. The rest of the'
members under 'Alush's leadership will operate in several fields abroad.
The Palestinian revolution sources believe that bot nd Abu Nidal enjoy
Iraq's support, but it is understood that t PLO's Pi ia? of-fY will be headed by
