AVENUE DE FRIEDLAND 75008 PARIS WINCHESTER HOUSE 77 LONDON WALL LONDON EC2N IDA PRINTING HOUSE IS ICE HOUSE STREET HONG KONG Thank you very much for your letter of February 26, 1985 and the enclosures. I have forwarded the two draft statutes relating to classified information to Mary Lee for inclusion on the agenda of the next meeting of the Standing Committee. I have not taken the same course with Mr. Hirschberg's draft, since I have some questions I would like to discuss with him before recommending it to the Standing Committee. Nonetheless, it clearly is an excellent piece of work and I very much hope that the Standing Committee will take it up in the near future. I take note, with the greatest possible regret, of your withdrawal from the Working Group. The Working Group has been extraordinarily productive. Much of the credit goes to the energy and dedication which you have shown as chairman. You will be sorely missed. I agree completely that the talent represented in the Working Group is a resource which should continue to the available to the Standing Committee. The Working Group has made, I think, truly outstanding contribution to date, and I hope that its members will agree to continue this fruitful and important service. With best personal regards. Sincerely, Daniel B. Silver p.s.: I do not have a list of the addresses of the full membership of the Working Group. I would be grate- ful, therefore, if you would forward copies of this letter to the other members. Approved For Release 2011/08/09: CIA-RDP05CO1629R000100020010-4
