Mrs. Corette and I have the pleasure of
having been requested by John.deButts to .act as
hosts for Mrs. Turner and you at The Business
Council meeting on the night of October 13th
and on October 14th, and until your departure
thereafter.
We extend you a most cordial invitation to

We will be arriving at Hot Springs late
Thursday afternoon, October 13th, and will phone
.you at your room to make arrangements for our

Jack Burke of The Business Council tells me
that Mrs. Turner and you like to play tennis and
that you would prefer to play on Friday afternoon
after lunch, and he has reserved a court for you
for that purpose.
There is always a ladies' tennis tournament
on Friday morning, and if Mrs. Turner would like
Lo play in that ladies' round-robin tournament,
we can arrange that after we arrive at Hot Springs.

the Council_is very pleased to have you as its

LADIES' PROGRAMS
BRIDGE TOURNAMENT
There will be an informal tournament in the Writing Room, adjoining the
Tower Lounge, on Friday afternoon, October 14th, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The play
will run until about 4:30 p.m. and prizes will be awarded.
COFFEE HOUR
Coffee, tea.and pastries will be available for the ladies in the Tower
Lounge on Friday and Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m.
GOLF
There will be prizes for the ladies, without an entry fee, using the Caloway
System to determine the winners. It is a proven and workable system and it makes
all scores very close, tending to favor neither the low nor the high handicap player.
All cards for complete rounds of play on any of the courses on Friday only should
be filled out legibly and turned in to the Council staff in the Valley Room immedi-
ately upon completion of play. If the cards are turned in all at one time just prior
to the dinner, there simply is not enough time or manpower to make the calculations
and announce the prizes that evening.
It is of the utmost importance to you that starting times be arranged in
advance. As the Upper Cascades is a favorite with the ladies, we reserve starting
times for 16 players (4 foursomes) at convenient hours on both Friday and Saturday
mornings. If you want to make use of these times, call the Upper Cascades starter,
mention The Business Council, tell him when you want to play, and he will make every
effort to accommodate you.
MORNING PROGRAM
A special program exclusively for the ladies will be presented on Saturday
only. The full details are listed in the social events schedule.
TENNIS
There will be informal competition for the ladies on Friday morning, without
an entry fee. Prize winners will be announced at the Friday dinner. All those who
wish to participate are asked to sign up with the tennis professional, Mr. Pat Haynes,
before 10 o'clock on Friday mornin ,October 14th. There will not be a tournament
on Saturday morning, Octo er 15th, but tennis courts will be held in the name of The
Business Council for those ladies who would like to play.
PLEASE CHECK THE BULLETIN BOARD DAILY FOR UP-TO-THE-MINUTE CHANGES!
