BRYANT COLLEGE
March 28, 1977
The Honorable Stansfield Turner
Admiral, U. S. Navy
The Director of Central Intelligence
Washington, DC 20505
President O'Hara shared with me his pleasure at your acceptance of
his invitation to receive the College's highest honors at the 114th
formal Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 21.
At a recent meeting of the Commencement Committee, it w.:? the
unanimous wish of faculty, officers, and students that you be
invited to deliver an address of perhaps ten or fifteen minutes'
duration.
I think you ought to know that a five-minute "Alumni Charge" will
be delivered by Charles Wielgus, Senior Vice President of Dun &
Bradstreet and a Bryant graduate, Class of 1947. Hence, your address
could be a general discussion on sane topic in connection with your
important new responsibilities.
Since our College publications, the Alumni Bulletins, the campus
newspapers and Commencement programs are being readied for the
printer, it would be nice to know as soon as possible if you would
honor us with such an address.
I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Be
assured that everything possible will be done to make your visit to
this campus comfortable and memorable.
CordiaLly,
Gertrude Meth Hochberg
Vice President for Public Affairs
Chi/mgm
y .
P.S. I am enclosing last year-'s ComTencemw..nt Program noting the Commence-
ment Address given by Dr. Arthur Frank Burns, Chairman of the
Board of Governors, Federal Reserve System.
