Dear Stan:
My old and good friend Douglas Dillon who has been a
Director of the Bank and is currently a member of Chase's
International Advisory Committee, has kindly agreed to
serve as the official host for the International Advisory
Committee's black tie dinner scheduled for Monday, October
29, at Anderson House in Washington. You will be receiving
an invitation from Mr. Dillon if it has not already reached
you. Peggy and I want you to know how pleased we both would
be should you be free to join us that evening.
The Bank's International Advisory Committee is made up of
leading industrialists and businessmen from around the
world. We normally meet twice a year in New York. However,.
every third meeting we try to arrange to gather in the
country of one of the members. We have been given an
opportunity in the fifteen years of the Committee's existence
to meet and see extraordinary people, things and events
thanks to the generous courtesy and hospitality of hosts in
several countries, but thus far we have never met in our own,
nation's capital. With this in mind, we thought it was a
good idea to have the 1979 fall meetings in Washington, and
we are currently working on a program there that we hope will
prove to be memorable.
We plan to make this Monday night event one of the highlights
of our October session and hope to have you with us that
evening.
With best regards.
Sincerely,
Reply card enclosed.
