The Gulfstream I is scheduled to go in for a 2,000 hour overhaul 14 August - 15 September. Charlie and I agreed on the dates before the invitation for the 21 August, VFW award in Dallas arrived. Changing the dates for the overhaul now, Charlie advises, would be almost impossible. Monday, 21 August 0900 VFW Program commences ** 1015 DCI arrive VFW convention 1030 Award presented to DCI 1200 Luncheon address to Dallas Chamber of Commerce, Navy League, and Army and Air Force associations (T)1330 Press Conference ** Herb advises that although the VFW convention Monday morning session begins at 0900, the CIA award will not be presented until 1030 and there is no need for you to arrive until shortly before. 3. Two alternatives for transportation V a. The Air Force will provide a 6 passenger T-39 for and approximate cost to the Agency of $2700. b. Fly commercially. There are no non-stop flights leaving Washington early enough Monday, 21 August to have you in Dallas in time for the award presentation. Therefore, you would have to fly Sunday evening to Dallas and return Monday afternoon.
