Honorees who will travel on Academy-provided flights will be contacted soon regarding our arrangements in that respect. After getting settled into your complimentary room at the Executive Inn Rivermont, you should visit our weekend headquarters at the hotel... in Room 216...to pick-up your weekend badge(s) and Banquet ticket(s). The spouse.of each guest of honor may attend any or all of the weekend events, as a complimentary guest of the Academy. On the Banquet night, Saturday, June 24, each guest of honor and spouse is invited to the reception for all head-table guests which will open at 6p.m. At exactly 6:40p.m., all spouses will be escorted from the reception in the Kentucky Room (see weekend schedule) to their Banquet seats (near the head-table) as the guests of honor remain for the spotlight introduction to their places of honor. Immediately after the Banquet, as indicated in the weekend schedule, there will be another reception in the Kentucky Room.. .this time for all head-table guests and spouses. Upon presentation of the Golden Plate Award (following the narrator's reading of the introductory remarks in italics at the top of his page in the Banquet yearbook), each honoree will have an opportunity at the microphone for a "thank you"...or, ideally, a brief expression of his thought or emotion of that moment. (Our tiny warning lamps... green, yellow, and red...will guide you from running much beyond the suggested max. time at the Banquet, two minutes or so.) Either a summer dinner jacket or black tuxedo will be appropriate at the black-tie Banquet of the Golden Fl-ate. (We can arrange your complimentary tux at Owensboro, if you prefer.) Ladies may wear either a long or short gown.
