Approved For Release 2010/02/12 : CIA-RDP05SO062OR000601560034-7 ? The Director of Central intelligence Washington, D. C. 20SO5 21 February 1978 Dear Jack, Thanks for your letter of the 8th. I hope my comments on program phasing will be helpful to you. I would like to express my appreciation to you and your team for making my brief stop at SAMSO so informative and enjoyable. Please give my special thanks to your two project officers on their outstanding briefings--their depth of knowledge is remarkable. I particularly enjoyed the obvious nautical slant in the second presentation. Hope we can find time to have a look at your Buckley facility in August. We'll be in touch if time permits a side trip there. In the meantime, all the best. Major General John E. Kulpa, Jr., USAF SAFSP P. 0. I 8 February 1978 Many thanks for taking the time from your busy schedule to spend last Thursday with us in Los Angeles. I hope we didn't give you too much "technical firehose" treatment. I particularly welcomed the opportunity to provide you the two program briefings in our conference room. Your comments concerning possible phasing of programs were indeed intriguing and challenging. I plan to take a.very careful look at various approaches and have some of our more innovative people work the problem. I hope to provide you with the results in the near future. If you have any time during your trip to Aspen in August, we would welcome the opportunity to show you our facility at Buckley Air National Guard Base outside of Denver.
