Dear Menandro,
How nice to hear from you after all these years.
I still recall and appreciate all the support I
received from you and our other shipmates on the
HORNE.
My staff has been in touch with the Bureau of
Personnel regarding your present assignment. BUPERS
advises that you are scheduled for rotation in
September 1979. At that time it is possible that you
may be assigned to the West Coast or perhaps to a ship
homeported in Japan. Since the Navy has just moved
you to Great Lakes, it is very unlikely you will be
moved again prior to your scheduled rotation date.
Since there is very little I can do to influence
this decision, I recommend you keep your preference
cards updated and keep BUPERS advised of your desire
to transfer back to the West Coast as soon as
possible.
