As 1978 draws to an end, I want to let you know
how much I appreciate your great efforts and
accomplishments during this past year. You have
worked under difficult circumstances and moved ahead
in spite of impediments. I only wish that I could -
have paved a smoother road for your new organization.
What you have ac and how you have
done it, has set on the right
course. The impact on the Community is already being
felt for the better, and the long-term benefit to the
country will be very great.
Most of all,0 I am grateful for your sense
of teamwork. With me you have been forthright in
your advice and I treasure that; with all others you
have been straightforward in ways that have built
confidence. This has been so essential and is such
a hallmark of your character.
As the New Year comes in Pat and I will be
STAT grateful for your and Q friendship over these
fifteen years plus, and looking forward so to 1979
together.
