MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director of Central Intelligence
FROM: Director of Central Intelligence
Co> 4CIss:Q. A I
SUBJECT: Suggestions from F Women's Caucus
I met with the Fell Women's Caucus on 20 July to explain
CIA's affirmative action program for equal employment. They were
in general favorably impressed with Agency efforts and progress;
however, they made several constructive suggestions which I would
like explored:
Hire more women recruiters;
Draw on the talent of women professionals and
specialists when awarding study contracts, seek-
ing consultants for NIEs, etc.;
Bolster the complement of women with scientific
and technical background by recruiting from the
science/engineering department faculty of women's
colleges;
Improve the recruiting approach made to women;
it was alleged that when a college graduate
applicant is interviewed, she is told, can't
tell, you exactly what you will do or exacta ,.f ..ihare
you will wore, or exactly what skills you will
require, but do you type?".
