United States Government MEMORANDUM Subject: Termination Financial Disclosure Reports Designated Agency Ethics Officials Office of Government Ethics APR 12 1988 Section 201(e) of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978, as amended, requires that an individual in a position required to file financial disclosure reports shall, on or before the thirtieth day after termination of employment in such position, file a financial disclosure report with his former agency. With the current administration coming to a close, many officials will be leaving the government between now and January 20, 1989. It is important that you remind departing officials of this requirement and ensure that you collect all required termination reports within thirty days of their departure. The termination reports of presidential appointees confirmed by the Senate should be reviewed promptly and sent to our office. Should you have any problems in collecting termination reports, please contact our Office for assistance. We appreciate your cooperation.
