1. Over a distance of 70 km, work },as been completed with view to en-
larging and deepening t Ee B_1 GA A Canal through which the water of the
NARY iver.and the KARA DARYA River flow. The work that has been done
constitutes a great improvement on the canal for water traffic and irriga-
tion.
