exact location of this canal; therefore, he marked the approximate location
of it on the overlay.
The facilities to be used for '.the control of the flow of water within

POINT 9. IRRIGATION CANAL: This irrigation canal was observed only cn-ce
by Source, who passed by, jt his way to work at the cotton seed oil pressing
plant. The canal was located 20 to 30m west of the oil plant and extended
N/S. Since there were no obstructions to mar the view of the canal from the
plant, Source could see the canal very clearly. On another occasion, Source
went to the canal to wash his face. From these observations, he estimated the
upper A4A-th,,,. of the canal to be 7 - 8m x an unknown depth. The water was not
exactly muddy, but it was not clear enough to see the bottom of the canal.
This section of the canal was the only place observed by,Source. '.,the flow
of the water was relatively fast, but he did not believe that it was fast
enough to prevent swimming upstream by a fair swimmer. Source'did not know the
origin of this water, but he recalled. that it flowed from south to north.
