GUERRILLA GROUP CLAIMS CREDIT FOR CUTUFI ATTACK
_
PA160247 Bogota Cadena Radial Super in Spanish 1730 GMT 15 Oct 83
[Text] Bogota -- Pictures and pamphlets released by the outlawed National Liberation
Army [ELN] have confirmed that that subversive group was responsible for the attack on
the Venezuelan military command post of Cutufi. The materials were sent to a television
studio in the capital during the past few hours.
In its communique, the ELN declared that it carried out this action because Colombian
and Venezuelan peasants living in the border area are being subjected to irregular opera-
tions by the Venezuelan Army and police, who refuse to allow the peasants either to work
or live in peace.
In another part of the communique, the subversives claim that the Venezuelan Red Flag
group is conducting important operations together with the ELN and other subversive
groups from neighboring countries to prevent imperialism and other forces from continuing
their total control of the Latin American nations.
