Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/11/26: CIA-RDP10T01930R000500130018-2 61 u, Notes on 6 September4meeting: 1. Vietnam seems to be taken care of from FE Division's point of view for the present. All papers sent to the White House on this subject are in the vault and will be sent to Austin. 2. 3. to prepare a general description paper on our methods of preparing CIA histories, to reflect our thoroughness and effort to be accurate, and to reflect generally that such histories are on file in CIA for future historical purposes. This will be on the CS side, will discuss the same subject on the DDI side with and Phil K. Edwards who is on the overall Agency Historical board. 4. There will be a minimal amount of paper writing demanded of the DDP components - mainly on known crises and urgent matters in order to set the record straight on subjects already in the White House files. 5. 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 will prepare a draft directive to go to DDP 25X1 components over Mr. Karamessines' signature in order to pin down more specifically just what is required to go into the Library from each component. Each Division will be much more liberal in their donations once it is emphasized that the great majority of the material will be retained in CIA custody, and that any index of material being held in CIA archives which is sent to the Library will be general and unrevealing. Draft to be given to who will discuss 25X1 with the DDP. 6. lIontion of the Studies ifi Intelligence should be made in the memo on histories with some indication of method of preparation. 7, to discuss with each Division the most important events which took place in their area during this period, to set up criteria by which senior personnel in each Division can select what material is to be earmarked for the LBJ archives within CIA. It was suggested that both begin together on one Division to set the procedure and then divide the others between them. 25X1 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/11/26: CIA-RDP10T01930R000500130018-2 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/11/26: CIA-RDP10T01930R000500130018-2 \1/4,',01.4i1L.t6 ' -2- 8. will collaborate in preparing a general ? paper stating that CIA will set up an Annex to the LBJ Library ? to be kept in CIA custody and describing the types of material to be in this annex. Some mention will be made that 303 Committee minutes and papers will be included in this 1,annex. 9. Executive Registry has a record of all documents that went to the . White House from the DDP. Arrangements will be made to examine their records to determine if they can be adapted for use in the inventory of documents for the Library. 10. It was agreed that it would be appropriate for the FI Staff to prepare a bland memorandum describing the improvements which have taken place during Johnson's period in our rei.rting procedures and in our evaluation of reporting. is already doing some work on this item. 25X1 25X1 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/11/26: CIA-RDP10T01930R000500130018-2
