SUBJECT: Telephone Conversation with Representative Ike Skelton
Rep Skelton called to ask whether newspaper accounts of a
diversion of Iranian arms funds to other covert action
activities were correct. I said they were not. I explained
what had happened drawing on George Lauder's public statement to
the press of yesterday and underscored that CIA had never
touched any of the profits from Iranian arms sales and had never
diverted any Iranian funds to other covert action programs.
