.This is in response to your communication o une 1977
forwarding a 21 June 1977 letter from of
St. Petersburg, Florida, asking if the Central Intelligence
Agency has "any U.F.O. files as .I've heard?"
In the period 1949-1952, CIA kept files on alleged U.F.O.
matters because no other Government agency appeared to be doing
so. CIA has not done so since then. The U.S. Air Force has had
the Executive Branch responsibility for U.F.O. matters:in recent
years..
I trust that this reply is responsive to your request. In
