On this date the DD/S called the Chief, PSD, to ask what action had been taken on his telephone conversation of 11 February 1967, regarding an increase in the number of printed pages in the FBIS daily reports. He was told that a memorandum had been prepared by the Chief, PSD, at the request of the D/L, outlining how this increase could be handled, that this memo had gone to the front office for signature of the D/L on 15 February 1967, and so far as the Chief, PSD, knew the matter was still in the hands of the front office. 2. The DD/S stated that he wanted this increase taken care of, that he did not care if it was done on overtime or by the addition of day shift employees to this operation, but that he wanted it done right away. The Chief, PSD, checked with the EO/OL, and found that STAT he still had the memo on his desk but thought that he had told the Chief, PSD, to go ahead and have the work done on overtime or that the D/L had done this (neither had). He did not say why he still start the next day. This was later discussed with the D/L in the presence of the WO and it was agreed that such overtime as necessary /1/1 had the unsigned memo to the DD/S on his desk. 3. The Chief, PSD, called Deputy Chief, FBIS, this date and told him that PSD would immediately start accepting the daily increase of 30-35 pages. said they would try to to handle the increase with the present crew of 8 men would be author- ized as the E/O had included this in a statement of overtime needed in 0/L for the balance of the fiscal year. The Chief, PSD, stated that STAT he hopes that overtime will not be needed after the FBIS operation is moved to Plant No. 3, as the six-man night shift in that plant can probably help out when peak loads are received. This is not certain, however. 4. Later in the day, of FBIS, called the Chief, PSD, to say that they would have o wor. up to this increase gradually as typists and editors were also involved. He said they would start on this right away but that it would take some time to reach the maximum and that even then they would not produce the maximum every day. It appears that the entire increase will be in China book. will make specific arrangements with notified by Chief, PSD, to start immediately on the increase, uning overtime as required. cc: Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2013/07/30: CIA-RDP12-00036R000100040018-8 erv ces Division, OL STAT STAT STAT STAT STAT
